You'll feel right at home about some things.
Madras is just as hot, sticky and humid as Atlanta is - and the local
mosquitoes are good competition for the ones in ATL. I must admit that
your palmetto bugs do tend to be rather larger and uglier than the local
competition
For those who haven't seen these critters (Periplaneta americana aka the
Palmetto bug) yet, I would suggest not going within several miles of
Atlanta, Savannah, Tampa .. hell, anywhere in Georgia or Florida.
