System Administrator - Linux
Summary:
Provide hands on technical support for all desktops, servers in Chennai
office and US locations ( remote support ).
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will
Perform system installations
Provide problem isolation and resolution using system software, diagnostics,
and crash-dump analysis.
Respond to email and ( occasionally ) telephone service requests for
hardware and software issues.
Implement action plans on assigned jobs.
Update higher ups about critical customer service events.
Education and Experience Requirements:
0 -2 years of RHEL (RedHat Enterprise Linux) and/or troubleshooting
experience.
Any graduate/Diploma.
Must have completed RHCE.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

specifications provided up front ( to some extent ).

well as self-directed.
Must have the following technical experience:
PC hardware troubleshooting.
Linux - RHEL/CentOS.
Application and database server software management and tuning
experience preferably Apache/Tomcat(jk) with MySQL.
Linux troubleshooting including crash dump analysis.
Networking knowledge in the areas of LAN topology, TCP/IP, routers,
firewalls.
Understanding of systems monitoring, SNMP/MIBs or other Systems
Management platforms.
Advantageous but not essential technical experience:
Microsoft Windows XP, 2003 Server and MSSQL experience.
Experience in one of the scripting languages (sh/ksh/bash, perl, csh).
Knowledge about Enterprise level storage systems like EMC storage
arrays.
Knowledge of software development using the 'C coding language.
Knowledge about content filtering tools or devices.
Knowledge in the areas of load balancing and security policies.
