In theory, nope. Any OS that is going to be used by an "end user" and
have more than say, 50% of the desktop market share is a potential host
for virus/worm/trojans. The reason that a lot of UNIX (and clone OSes)
had not many virus/worm/trojans was because, the UNIX user tends to
"know" more about the system than a typical desktop/home user. Also,
most crackers write viruses/trojans/worms targetting the desktop
platform.
I read an on Solaris 10 that there are no viruses in Solaris(April
BusinessToday) is that true ?.
Its not that Solaris 10 as an OS is "highly" secure. Its just that a
Solaris user/administrator would be well-informed like every other
sane UNIX administrator and that the crackers aren't trying too hard.
Also note that Solaris 10 is a brand new OS, which means, a potential
cracker will wait for some more time till its being widely deployed, and
work underground collecting a list of bugs/exploits during this time.
