1. We can use cryptocurrencies to maintain
anonymity but Tor and crypto currencies are
hassle in itself for the lay folk from finding
a reliable exchange for INR to downloading
the wallet of 8-10 gigs.
It would be nice to
offer both services, a normal one with paid
using bank account or payment facilities
(paytm, mpesa) and another using
cryptocurrencies.
2. Making it free wouldn't be nice in the long
term, relying on donations is a hassle anyday.
Self sufficiency is best as I feel a service of
this type would need as many lawyers as it
can to fend off attacks or to ensure that the
RTIs are answered.
Another concern would be people trying to
DoS the service by filing unnecessary RTIs.
It should be even easier through a web interface.
Operating at cost price should be good enough
and probably large scale and bring down
costs.
3. An onion site should be nice too.
4. An important thing for this should be that,
general RTIs (everything other than followup on
personal applications for govt services) can be
made public for anyone to see. This could be
something as simple as a radio button result-
private or public.
Eg. I would like to know what my local MLA is
doing wrt a particular project and so would many
others in my constituency,
making such information public and accessible
would be a convenience for others esp. those
interested enough to know what is happening but
not enough to pay few hundreds and file an RTI.
