Hello folks,
I just bought an Acer lappy and installed Suse 10.1 from LFY DVD. At home, I
use an Airtel broadband connection (details below). As a first hurdle, I am
unable to connect with it, and am stuck without patches and non-prop drivers --
trying the same for 2 days without any success. I have a separate XP machine
with the same net connection running fine. Please tell me of any way to get the
required patches & updates for my laptop...
Acer 3212 NWXMi:
--- Pentium M 740 (detected as i386)
--- Intel 915GM Motherboard
--- 512 MB DDR2
--- Intel Pro 2200 WLAN
--- Gigabit Ethernet
--- Modem port & Infrared
--- All hardware detected fine; GB Ethernet installed; ndiswrapper installed
Airtel Broadband:
--- 128 kbps
--- beetel 220bx ADSL router
--- USB and Ethernet (PPPoE) interfaces supported
{ PS 1: I tried the trick given at
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:How_To_Create_a_Patch_CD but the total size exceeds ;
2GB! And I don't know which of the files can be safely excluded }
{ PS 2: I have a Kubuntu CD ready, just in case... ;-}
Thanks,
- Subash
