I am working in Website creation for my project work.
I was using Windows along with WAMP server.
But i want to do the Webpages in Linux platform.
Now i am trying to use Ubuntu.
I dont know how to install the XAMP , and any other software needed to do
the website managing.
Is any software will run on linux as Dreamweaver there?
Please refer me the softwares and the way to installation ways to work.
I am waiting for your reply.

where i conducted a simple workshop for the students.
earlier Ravi Jaya had given a one day seminar a month back.
I was invited for the Department function of IT. After the function is
over, i just invited 15 interested students (only interested students) to
the lab, and gave a basic intro of XAMPP server, and how to easily setup a
internal server for college use. I gave a brief introduction of PHP, and

easy to setup a website and update contents.
While i installed XAMPP server in one machine, i asked few students to try
accessing my server using IP through a browser.. this gave them a practical
understanding of how webserver works..
Then i requested one of the student to try installing phpBB forum
software.. Initially none of them came forward.. After few supporting
words, few of them came forward, and started installing the forum software.
and they successfully did it.
After installing the forum, i asked other members to try accessing the
forum
from other machines.. this created an interest in them.. i told them, how
we can effectively discuss about project ideas, using this forum software
within college lab intranet.. They tried posting few posts in the forum
and
got very much interested..
The demo went for around half-an hour, and i have to leave then.. i told
the students that they can easily do a simple project for their academic
project in web technology itself.. I dont know how far they had understood
all these..
But one point i was noticed.. without making the students do it
practically, all our seminars tends to be fruitless.. Some students later
commented that they are understanding ravi jaya's seminar only now..
I wish, we can identify some practical projects for the students and then
make them learn open source by doing that project with our guidance...
