BTW this reminds me. Several years ago I had my profile in .txt format
and a lady consultant
would keep on insisting that she never got my profile and I
kept on insisting that she got it.
What was happening was that her mail client was inspecting the MIME type
and appending it inline with my mail text.
(I had to give up after a while.)
PDF is a nice format for resume.
You can either use LaTeX or even POD(Plain Old Documentation) with perl
to create PDF.
Of course some of you will prefer OpenOffice to create PDF.
