Thanks but the "computer" wala only understands brand/model and as for
drivers "it is on the CD sir." I'll get a blank stare if I ask him for
a webcam compatible with *spca5xx drivers* :)

I have described the compilation method in my blog... But it wasn't
reqd. for me to compile those things again after I moved to newer
versions of Kubuntu.
