just take four freedoms to them and applying them they should arrive at
knowledge of different licences.
i am not sure what stage you teach them the licenses, but if it is at the
introduction level, the chances are that it might confuse them.
they are there to code ("not to sue & tussle"), and explaining them the
benefits of having a free software at learning ("simply") would rather
fascinate them and drive them easily to the free software world.
law students, yes EULA, GPL does make difference at the very beginning, not
with others, I feel.
