Are you talking about 'TUX' the kernel httpd?
That's what Binand has mentioned.
TUX is part of 2.4 and is not in mainline 2.6.
Not in the upstream kernel since Ingo decided that with NPTL the
performance differences weren't major but Fedora and RHEL still include
it. We got some major deployments too.
