A major stumbling block to conversion to Linux at Office is the lack of
AUTOCAD equivalent in Linux.
QCAD I think has commands compatible with Autocad. I remember
compiling it once was a pain. But that was long ago.. no idea how it
is now.

one point in my query was any app which can read .dwg files. QCAD cannot.
