Why don`t you try the reverse one? Linux over the solaris?
Back home, I have Open Solaris, Ubuntu and Windows installed on my PC
(half way around the globe). I don't remember if I got Solaris' boot
loader (is that not GRUB?) to work. But since I had reinstalled Linux
after installing my Solaris, I just added the Solaris partition into
my Grub config. I am not able to choose between the three OSs. Am sure
you should be able to do it the otherway round also. But, by default
Linux/ Windows is not going to recognize Solaris/ vice versa. You have
to manually add it to the boot menu. But that is quite easy.
PS: In my mail Solaris = Open Solaris.
Cheers,
Natarajan
