Hi All !,
I am a new member of this Linux group.
I request an detailed answer from any of the member for my below
problem. Please give your answer easy to understand and simple as I am
extremly new to LINUX.
Scenario :
A few months ago I got a free CD of ELX Linux from Linux For
You Magazine.I was really anxious and so I deleted my Win ME from my
system and loaded the ELX version of Linux.I partioned it into two as 10GB and
30GB (for my system files and data files respectively).
Then for the past 6 months I was not at my Home.My sister who
doesn't know how to operate in Linux , with the help of my uncle installed
the Win ME again in the 30GB partioned harddisk. But for unfortunae Win
ME ate all the Linux and now it boots only in Win ME.
My system has only one partioned as shown by my Win ME that too
for only 29GB.The rest 10GB partioned for the Linux was as it is.I don't
have any boot floppy to recall my Linux files .
My Questions :
1. How do I get my Linux back ?
2. Should I have to earse all the datas from my HDD ? and start from
scratch ? (I don't want to do that as my sis have many important files
and software in it)
3. Can I partion my drive now without disturbing my Win ME? Will I be
getting a dual boot when partioned ?
I request an answer for my questions.Even if you can't please give
me some websites which can give me more detailed answer in this issue.
Cheers
Rajesh M Aran
