Posting information about how to make something work does not encourage
"illegal things". Knowledge is knowledge - whether I provide help to someone
or not has nothing to do with "illegal things". I'll leave the debate about
free speech and whether EULA's are legal/binding to a different thread -
it's not really worth arguing about on this forum.
To address your specific issue about using IE on a non-windows OS, I would
suggest you read the EULA carefully before you make claims about using the
components on non-authorized OS's! The EULA states (and this is repeated on
the IEs4Linux site):
NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A VALIDLY LICENSED COPY OF ANY VERSION OR EDITION
OF MICROSOFT WINDOWS 98, MILLENNIUM EDITION, WINDOWS NT 4.0, WINDOWS 2000 OR
ANY MICROSOFT OPERATING SYSTEM THAT IS A SUCCESSOR TO ANY OF THE FOREGOING
OPERATING SYSTEMS (EACH AN "OS PRODUCT"), YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO INSTALL,
COPY OR OTHERWISE USE THE OS COMPONENTS AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS UNDER THIS
SUPPLEMENTAL EULA.
That snippet is from 6.0 (5.01 has something similar, see the IEs4Linux
site). 7.0 is not relevant since IEs4Linux does not work with it yet. And
Vista licensing is a black-hole of weirdness altogether - and basically you
can't legally run windows at all if you adhere to it!
You only need a valid EULA in order to use the component(s) of the system.
You are in NO WAY bound to use the OS in its entirety to run any part of the
system. The reasons for this legalese are well established, so again, not
worth really bringing up in this forum.
It is not the place of the ILUGC, the FSF or any other body to stifle
knowledge under the dubious guise of discouraging "illegal things". It is
the place of the individual party to make the decision on whether things are
illegal or not - and this is by reading the EULA carefully for their
location. You may point out to them that this MAY be illegal in your
jurisdiction. It is absolutely insane to suggest that posting something
"encourages" illegal behavior!
Please refrain from curbing free speech.

IEs4Linux as such is not illegal - there's nothing wrong with
posting about it. The FAQ on the site clearly says that you need to
have a windows licence to use it. So it's up to the user whether to
use it or not - but it still is a very valuable tool for a web
developer.
even if you have a windows license you cannot run IE on linux - check
the download page for IE - it clearly says that the EULA allows you
to run IE ONLY on specified operating systems - and linux is not
specified in the list.
