Hai,

One of my client using firefox in his company
and want to disable
downloading  all the files downloaded by users. Can
we disable downloads on
firefox? any idea ?
Not too sure if it is a firefox problem or even the
"responsibility" of firefox.

Typically such things are done at the network
periphery by installing a firewall that blocks out
http, ftp, https traffic.

In which case you can't browse also. :-(

If you want to block certain MIME types like
mp3,videos, mail sites etc. then several companies
sell such software for a heavy price which again work
at the network periphery.

I have heard that squid ( http://www.squid-cache.org/

can do the job for free! There might be some experts
in the list ( I know at least one) who can help you
with the setup.

All the best!

HTH,
Girish
