I'd personally interpret Linux as GNU/Linux; especially when they say
"Linux operating system".
just curious, has FSF issued any fatwa to call the new OSs as GNU/Android and
GNU/Chrome?
That would make no sense whatsoever. A typical Linux distribution is a
combination of Linux kernel, GNU tools and others. However Android
avoids GPL as much as possible in user space. When Google open source's
something, their preferred license is Apache and Android user space is
mostly that way as well. Android is a *very* different from any other
Linux based system. Chrome - we don't know the details yet.
