Now, reading this file shows that the latest version of, say
libgtk2.0-dev 2.8.20-1. So, that package deb must be present in
/pool/main/g/gtk+2.0. Now, they ARE NOT present in our mirror,
http://10.65.0.42/debian/pool/main/g/gtk+2.0/, and 2.8.18-1 is the
version present there. But they ARE present in
http://http.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gtk+2.0/
well, this is the reverse of the problem reported earlier wherein the
packages were new version but the packages.gz file listed the older
versions. i believe the problem is upstream of us and this is now reported
in the debian-mirrors mailing list. you have indicated that the packages
ARE present in http.us.debian.org. actually, they are not. well, maybe.
http.us.debian.org (or ftp.us.debian.org) resolves into several addresses
and one of the addresses has a broken mirror (its the 204.x address that
is broken). this means that anyone mirroring from ftp.us.debian.org (this
means mamy mirrors including ours) has a finite chance of hitting this bad
server and ending up with a broken mirror.
