Hi there,
I bought a D-Link external modem (DFM-562E) V.92 model. I am trying to
use a dialup modem to work with BSNL in my small town in AP. Is there a
howto? Ihave no clue how to connect etc.
I am thinking of using the serial port. Is it /dev/ttyS0 ? Can someone
please tell me the detailed commands and instructios needed ot get it to
work? I was given suggestions like:
"Pass ATX1 to the modem to disable dialtone detection. OR still easier
ATX1DT<tel number>"
"ATX0 is good but what happens if the phone tone is
dead or busy?I know (back of my mind) there was another setting to change
to non-USphone systems...Anyway ATX0 woks if you are on a short stay."
But I do not know how to pass these options to modem etc.
