[Ilugc] Cool-running Xine/Ogle/Mplayer HTPC HW-platform

This is quite a review. How come you know so much about this
processor. I am curious :-?
Fairly simple - one these Northwood D1s came into my possession for
testing, experimentation, etc. A simple touch test revealed that it
ran very cool. A quick check on its S-Spec (SL6VV) followed by a few
hours on Google revealed that it had pretty good features, including
thermals and overclock potential (~3.2 GHz on a stock setup). So I
decided to upgrade my existing Xine box (which was earlier running
a Coppermine PIII that died due to thermal issues). The upgrade was
a fairly trivial motherboard+CPU swap; an i686 kernel as well as stock
RedHat 7.3 booted, and kudzu detected and configured everything flawlessly.
Hence the recommendation.
