How about a OpenMosix Clustering setup with ClusterKnoppix.. Did that in
my college..We set up a small render farm of about 6 nodes, worked quite
well and was fun watching the graph.
b.Volunteer for the event
  
c.Volunteer to train/help the student volunteers before the event
d. Provide publicity  among friends,collegues etc.
  
How about a page in the wiki so that interested volunteers can put their
names..
