| Subject: [Ilugc] CB@MIT -- A Great Day for Freedom
Should say there was much more student participation this time
than any other LDD that I have seen. And that's encouraging.
The venue had a professional look - with IBM, RedHat,Covansys
and Colabnet supporting the festival. The CD burning and
distribution process was very well planned and streamlined this
time.
Another change was the stalls that we had - looked like a real
Expo! Some on please put up the pics on the net. There was a
food stall and ice cream outlet too along side other stalls :)
Harish Krishnaswamy from Novel gave an inspiring talk, urging
students to participate in the open source movement. Rightly
said - it is not the government depts and competitors that big
companies are afraid of, it is the students (working in garages
with gadgets? ;) that is their biggest concern! Students have
the power to topple just any damn company making inferior
products.
Great work guys! And thanks for the 'GNU/Linux inside' stickers :)
