In the recent past, there has been discussion on the Free Software [1]
projects for college students and mentoring them. Amidst all the friends
doing traditional railway reservation and library management system as
projects, when a student comes forward to contribute to free software, some
extra motivation and a good recognition is critical to help go that extra
mile.
@Students: Here comes an opportunity to exhibit your contribution to Free
Software, to the public, FOSS enthusiasts and even hard-core developers from
various domains. You can win exciting prizes too!! As part of Carte Blanche
2011 (the annual Free Software fest by Computer Society of MIT), there is
an event named *Make It*, just for this.
Students who have developed some free software using any of the free
software technologies can present an on-stage demo of the software here.
This can be any application or a plug-in or any other piece of software, but
a free software. The best 3 software will be provided demo stalls where the
students can demo their product to the visitors. Out of them, the best stall
will be chosen for prize. Certificates will be issued for all participants.

of 'free software' above)
PS: We never mind if you call it open source, but be sure that you give all
the 4 freedoms to the users.
