I often find that ignorance hurts! Ouch!
Right now the heat is on me since I belong to a certain yahoogroups!
and many ppl use Windoze there.And sometimes viruses goes on rounds.
Last time, someone came up with a retrograde idea of blocking all
forwards after the virus storm blew over. :-)
I suggested that it was stupid to do that and protested vehemently
that viruses don't come everyday. Once the attack is over, it takes a
long time to come back.
And then, nobody listened and everyone sufferred since nobody could
send attachments.
At last after persistent efforts from my side the floodgates were opened.
But now the issue has come up again. We Indians are spectacularly
talented in doing something in the most inefficient manner. For
instance, our IT industry does with 10 ppl what one guy would do in
US.
And there is another interesting anecdote of an airport closing its
gates for aircrafts since they didnt have personnel to man them.
Instead of getting additional personnel, they closed the gates causing
inconvenience to everyone.
So instead of blocking attachments, is there a way by which I can ask
ppl to do something bold and meaningful ?
Moving the mailing list away from yahoogroups! is not an immediate
solution. Anything else?
Remember it is a restricted mailing list , only members can post etc..
So it should be easy.
