Bit torrent is not actually like peer-to-peer file
transfer protocol. It is a different concept.
Assume we are downloading an iso. The seeds are those
who have the full iso. The seeds distribute chapters
of the iso to the different peers. The peers interact
with each other to get the chapters that they don't
have. In case a peer leaves and the other peers don't
have the chapter yet, you can get it from a seed.
So, you can _always_ stop a bittorrent download and
resume from where you left off.
One of the Internet connections (touchtel) that I use
for downloading isos, I start download at 10 PM and
stop it at 8 AM (free, during this period). I repeat
the same the following day. So, even if the download
doesn't finish in a 10-hour period, I can continue
downloading the next day :)
