Hello,
I recently upgraded to Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (Herd 3). It comes stocked
with the 2.6.20 kernel. I am having a problem with this. I have 2 ATA
hard disks connect to my system - hda and hdb.
Now, when I boot into the 2.6.20 kernel, it gets detected as SATA hard
disks - sda and sdb. I thought I could get over the problem by changing
the /dev/hd* references to the UUID values in /etc/fstab. But
apparently, the UUID value also changes.
Why is my ATA hdd getting detected as a SATA disk? Is there a work
around for this? I am currently running 2.6.15 and it works perfectly fine.
Thanks,
