It went like this:
SLV - sea launch vehicle
ASLV - another sea launch vehicle
PSLV (was yet to be launched at that time -late 80s) probably sea launch vehicle
Jokes apart, a rocket is one of the most complex of systems ever built
by human beings and any one of a billion things going wrong could
wreck it. In fact our space department has been doing a commendable
job (considering the budget it has at its disposal) and this incident
is just a stepping stone. Remember, NASA has its own share of failures
too (even with their budgets)!
