Thanks Mike -that got it through my thick head! The problem I was having was trying to invoke SKILL at the command prompt while in a lower tier'd tool. I switched to performance option L and now it works. Thanks for the help! -----Original Message----- From: icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mike Finczak Sent: Thursday, October 22, 2009 2:36 PM To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: SKILL ??? Dennis, Depending on your license level you can load and run Skill program two ways. All license levels: 1) Create or edit the existing "allegro.ilinit" file in your local pcbenv directory with a text editor. 2) Add a load command to the file. Typical syntax might be: --> load("My_Program.il") 3) Start allegro and type the program run command in the Allegro command window. (usually, but not always the same as the program name) --> My_Program Performance license level and above: 1) In the Allegro command window type: --> skill 2) In the Allegro command window enter the load command: --> (load "My_Program.il") 3) Enter the program start command: --> My_Program Type exit when done. Hello Again, I can't figure out what I need to do to run a SKILL program. I know I need an ALLEGRO.ININIT file but not sure where I get this from, or where it resides(PCBENV folder?). Also don't know what goes in it. And do I need something in my ENV file pointing to this file? How do you invoke SKILL from the command line? Any info would be appreciated!
