Hi Although I'm not 100% convinced, let's try and be constructive here. As promised, I said I would try make a few suggestions. I'm posting this here as most people are still on this list. Suggestions for www.cdnusers.org's 'Forums' pages. (I appreciate a lot of this is a tall order, but other people may be thinking the same.) 1 - a help menu, to help with navigation. eg, tell people that text sizes can indeed be resized through the browser 2 - "Work in progress", eg. to let users know that 'the email issue' is a concern and they are being worked on. Not all WIP would necessarily be in the "suggestions" folder that's there. 3 - It looks like it's been optimized for a 800 pixel screen. I haven't used one of these for centuries. A little bit of javascript will widen the page size to what a screen will handle. 4 - Failing point 3, have the main page resizable anyway. 5 - The HTML editor is too small. Other HTML editors exist that are more flexible, including being able to embed an image. 6 - Have the forums page set to a link that is stable, if "http://www.cdnusers.org/Forums/tabid/52/Default.aspx"; isn't already. That way, people can bookmark the page if they wish to. 7 - It's been written with asp.net. Is there a compression method available similar to mod_gzip? The javascript, html and css files can then be compressed. 8 - It would be possible to add a search to the first forum ( //www.freelists.org/archives/icu-pcb-forum/ ) to look through older archives. It does not necessarily need to have the results in the new format - a new window would be fine. 9 - I'm not sure if spell checking is possible. OK, it's technically possible, and has been done before elsewhere, but may be quite tricky here. Ditto for saving work half way through. Although, if we can reply from an email will not make this so important. These would not, unfortunately, be available for new postings. People like me may hav to lern to typ bettr. 10 - a 'printer friendly' option Well, seems I've the "magic 10". Let's see what happens. Meanwhile, I've got a bit of a backlog of work to clear! 11 - oops - one more. A small point, but not all the world follows the US date format. Well, actually, I don't know of anyone else that does. This should be able to be tied to the 'My Profile'. Cheers, Richard NOTICE: This message contains privileged and confidential information intended only for the use of the addressee named above.
