I have seen occurrences pop up for no apparent reason. I use CIS, so never
edit a part's properties, other than to link (change) it to a different part
from the database.
In the past, there was a bug that would generate occurrences, and that was
fixed.
I think the variant editor also causes oddities, but it's been awhile since
I messed with it.
The, um, occurrence of occurrences "incorrectly" popping up seems to have
become less frequent. It's never been a problem for me (my designs are
flat) but it is annoying in the property editor.
