Yes, I agree.  Take the issue to your assembler.

My appologies if my original reply was too cynical, but just be warned that 
there's a lot of assemblers (if not the majority) have a proper understanding 
of the LF process.  

One good paper to look at is

Does anyone know of any user-groups dedicated to LF?  Maybe it's time to start 
one.

This is one of those cases that should be brought
before your assembler. They have the most to gain
by you making a choice that is compatible with
their process. If you have not already done so,
I recommend you present the problem to them for
the ideal solution.
