I have used pin_delays for quite some time (although I'm using mentor now)

When I was using them, I wrote a script to backannotate the symbol file with
the pin_delays.

The symbol file is the best place to put them because they will go into any
schematic you place the part in.

One Warning:

The last time I used pin_delays, in a new release of 15.5 (and all versions
before it) there was a problem

With the CCT router using them effectively. I ended up having to convert the
pin_delays to net offsets (or deltas in the CM).

(I did this with a tool I wrote which wrapped around the packager)

Pin_delays worked well within the normal Allegro Flow. I'm not sure if they
fixed the AutoRouter yet.

group: someone brought up the issue of letting the sch do the driving. We
have allegro basis and allegro SI. While doing a ECO orcad automatically
opens up Allegro basic, can I redirect this so SI will open as the default
tool from orcad?

Thanks Sam

Austin,

I have used Pin-delays on multiple boards in V15.5 and up. The import

pin delay is only available in Expert. The option to use is only

available in Expert. Running db doctor or analyze in Performance changes

all the values so they are "Red" in CM, DRC count soars.

I have not tried adding them in as pin properties in Performance.

Regards,

Gerry

Note: It seems that some functionality is being removed from

Performance. You used to be able to modify ecsets in Performance. Now

you have to be in Expert to even change a value in the spreadsheet. You

also can no longer audit ecsets in performance.

Hi Gerry,

Well, keep in mind, I've gotten XNETs to work in Performance ;-)

Were you basing what you said on some documentation or experience? If

so,

I'd like to know more.

Regards,

Austin
