Would Logic>Net Logic work? It's the new feature for changing net names for
etch and pins.
Or select the cline and create a clip file with the origin at 0,0 read in the
new logic and place the clip back.

So, are you asking if this would be a good enhancement.
Absolutely. But let's not limit to etch, let's do all
the metal pieces. After all, we can do it right now with
shapes, can't we? Actually, that would only be the vias.
I would even go so far as to say, "Why is it not there
already?". I guess all of us would like to see this
added as a feature. It has come up several times on
the list in just the last few months.
