Hi Brian,
You will indeed, need to contact michael on Monday regarding registration of
the unit. However, you can download the 1.1 .lsi file and install it
manually to go ahead and play with the update this weekend. After you do
this, you will be able to find the serial number in the Status Menu. But,
if for some reason, you want to get a hold of it before updating, or you
want to wait and go through the normal update process, you can create a
problem report using option 68 from the applications menu. As part of the
form, the serial number is filled in. You can simply Cancel out of the
report after you have retrieved it. You will be asked if you're sure you
want to quit with a warning that the report has not been sent. Press OK for
yes. In addition, if you have sighted assistance, the serial number is on a
sticker located on the underside of the unit.
To download the 1.1.lsi file go to
http://tech.aph.org/mm/node/108
Place the file on your hard drive, or a USB key or Mini SD card. Go to File
Explorer, 6, 2 from the Applications Menu, locate the 1.1.lsi file and press
Select. You should then be guided through the rest of the update process,
basically, you'll be told what's happening, but will need to do nothing but
wait.
