[icon-discuss] Speakers that are not mini, but still extremely portable and have great sound

Has anyone else tried the Creative Labs, Travel Sound speakers?
They cost about $70.00, but they are fantastic! They can run on 4 Triple A
batteries, or you can buy a Universal AC adapter at someplace like Bi-mart
for about $15.00 and run them on AC.
They measure about 6 inches long, by two and half inches tall and two inches
thick at the thickest point. They also have an earphone jack on them.

I bought them to go with the Book Port a couple of years ago. They have
very good sound and can put out a pretty good volume.

those with not so good hearing...

Heheh,
I'm an everything electronic-music junkie... I wouldn't mind seeing the $4
item. Put up a link to it if you have it.

I hate that all the people I've helped set up actual Ipods have the luxury
of buying Boze and Altec Lansing speaker systems for their devices. It is so
nice to hage the little speakers on the Icon though.

I have bought a couple of the Radio Shack $19.95 collapsabile units, and
then flipped for the rather expensive AC adaptor and ring tip adaptor to
power them without batteries. They actually sound pretty good. I use them
for a speaker set right next to my computer and my bed for sleep time
listening. I still would like to see something in between the bigger RS
speakers and the tiny SuperMiniSoundBox thing. I think I'm going to love the
speakers in the keyboard from Levelstar when it comes out, though, so I
won't be wracking my brains for new stuff to much longer until I can buy
that.

John
