Hi Linda,

Thank you so much for your wonderfully detailed suggestions. I guess I should
try a reset first, because my entire unit is now acting flaky. I just turned
it on a few minutes ago to check e-mail. First it couldn't find
my wireless network which seemed odd. My laptop found it just fine. Then when
I turned off the Braille Plus, it turned itself back on a few seconds later.
This process kept repeating until I removed the battery.

If you dohn't mind, I would just like to verify that the reset button is the
indentation at the left of the battery. You don't have to remove the battery
to do a reset. On the other hand, you do have to remove the
battery to reflash the unit, using the insertion point just above the ridge of
circuits.

Now also please tell me what is supposed to be said each time you turn on the
Braille Plus. Mine only gave a spoken message the very first time I turned it
on. Also, this unit was not at Version 2.0 build 21, when
I received it. I did the software update to reach the current build. Is it
usually the case that one would receive a unit with older software such as 1
point something installed?? I would have thought the Braille Plus
would have been up to date at its arrival.

I really think I could like the Braille Plus, but I'm starting to wonder if
mine isn't defective from the outset. If so, I guess I could just send it back
and request a new one or a refund.

Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Donna
