Hi Beth and All,

If what you state is true, and frankly, for the most part I agree with you,
then we had better all start saying goodbye to specialized Braille products.
There is no way that most of us can outlay the amount of cash needed to
purchase these products every 2 or 3 years. At least I know that's certainly
true for myself! We will by necessity, have to start availing ourselves of the
off-the-shelf options that are including accessibility features. There is
nothing that saddens me more, because I love what APH and LevelStar are doing,
but technology is simply moving far too fast for specialized Braille products
to keep up with it at a price that most of us can afford. Even in the sighted
technology world, it is often said that products are out-of-date by the time
you take them out of the box. It is both a wonderful and a frightening time we
live in. Many of us will be stuck with deplorably out-of-date equipment,
simply because we can't afford to keep moving on!
