[icon-discuss] Logging into the Terminal

Hello all,
I am having trouble logging into the terminal using the numpad to navigate.
The terminal doesn't seem to accept anything I type, say I input root as the
username. it just sits at the login prompt. It does nothing, basically.
And, it asks me for a password, when I try to ssh into the Braille Plus; I
don't have one. What's going on?
Sorry if i'm an annoyance, but just having trouble here, :).
