Another thing is the number pad doesn't work while in this mode or what ever this is. And yes, doing things too fast too long or too many tend to make this happen more frequently. I'm glad to know LevelStar is aware of this problem. The only thing I can think of at the moment is that it tends to happen after the Icon has been on for awhile. I'm not sure if it occurs when the unit has been on for a few minutes without being used, or only when I've been listening to a book or podcast, and then try to do something else. Oddly, other commands, which do not require a key to be held down, still work properly. ----- Original Message ----- From: Brandon Keith To: outofsightlife@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, September 27, 2010 6:12 PM Subject: Re: [icon-discuss] Re: Icon freezes up Yes, the problem of the holding down the keys is something I as well as a few other people have had, but it is not accurately reproducible so APH and or Levelstar (who ever does this kind of things) haven't been able to find the problem. So if you can get it to happen on a regular basis please let us know! The difficulty with turning the unit on was mostly resolved by leaving my mini SD card out. The problem has not completely disappeared, however, even with the latest build. I never had trouble turning off my Icon, until after I installed the most recent Beta. Since then, it has happened three or four times. The strangest time was this past Saturday, when I suddenly found that the Icon would not respond to any command which required holding down a key: turning wireless on or off, activating the Status menu, or turning the Icon off. As a last resort, I removed and replaced the battery, to reboot the unit. I really enjoy the Icon, and hope these problems can be fixed in the near future. I sometimes I have problems turning the machine on or off. This happens when it is plugged into the AC adapter, but it also has happened when I am just using the battery. I do hold down the cancel a few seconds, but there are no beeps or vibration. Has anyone else encountered these problems? I also want to use this with a Bluetooth keyboard. Does anyone have any recommendations? I plan to buy the docking station next year when I have saved some dollars. In the meantime, I need a keyboard to enter notes for class. Angela
