I will try that. If the battery is removed and I restart the unit, what can I
expect to happen?

Hi, since you have had trouble with your battery, you might try removing the
battery and plugging in the unit to see if it will start with the battery out
of the picture.

Subject: [icon Discussions] Braille Plus is completely unresponsive

Hi everyone,

I apologize if this was already covered on the list. I am experiencing major
technical difficulties with my Braille Plus and am afraid the unit is
completely dead and no longer able to function at all.

This past weekend, I noticed that my applications weren't working properly,
including the newsstand, rss reader and backup utility. This has happened
before, so I did what I normally would-rebooted the system, and upon doing so
got an error message saying "global name sets is not defined" which I
eventually was able to exit out of. When rebooting proved unsuccessful, I did a
reset and although the unit started normally, it was still sluggish. I then did
a factory reset, and tried to restore a recent backup. Previously, this has
worked, but it did not work in this instance. I then tried to power off the
unit, thinking if I powered it back on that might solve the problem, but I then
got a message saying error during power off, so I popped the battery. The unit
vibrated as normal, and I could hear it restart, but there was no speech
output. Eventually, the wirring of the hard drive stopped entirely, and I now
have a completely unresponsive unit. I have tried a factory reset and the unit
is completely unresponsive. I also have noticed that the battery hasn't been
holding a charge lately, so I didn't know if the battery had died or if the
unit has just completely stopped working. I'd appreciate any assistance, though
I recognize that there may be nothing to do to restart the unit. Thanks.
