Details on using Bluetooth keyboards with your Icon:

We have tested several Bluetooth keyboards from Think Outside, as wel as a
keyboard from Microsoft, and they all seem to work fine with the Icon. To
use your Bluetooth keyboard:

1. Open the Bluetooth control pannel by choosing it from the utilities menu.
2. Make your Bluetooth keyboard discoverable-- please consult the
documentation that came with your keyboard for details on how to do this, it
is different for every keyboard.
3. Choose find Bluetooth devices from the Bluetooth control pannel's menu.
4. After a few seconds, your keyboard should appear in the list of found
bluetooth devices.
5. Press select to pair with it.
6. Your Icon should say "keyboard found" and you should now be able to use
your Bluetooth keyboard.
7. Close the list of found devices by pressing cancel.
8. Put the Bluetooth control pannel in the background by pressing cancel.

Bluetooth consumes some power, so we recommend turning it off when not in
use. to do this, select turn Bluetooth off from the Bluetooth control
pannel menu.

After your keyboard is paired with your Icon, you need only open the
Bluetooth Control Pannel to turn Bluetooth on, and then turn on your
Keyboard-- it will find and connect to your Icon.

Letting your Icon Use your PC's internet connection via USB.

It is now possible to access the internet via USB using your Windows
computer's internet connection. Below, we describe the steps necessary to
get it working, and the current limitations. Please follow these steps very
carefully.

1. Install the USB networking drivers supplied on the CD that came with your
Icon. It is important to do this before connecting your Icon to your PC.
2. Open the Icon's network manager, and choose to create a new network
profile.
3. Choose USB from the list of profile types.
4. Give the profile a name.
5. You'll most likely want to leave it set as default, that is, to use DHCP.
You can also setup a static IP address if you wish.
6. Press OK to save the profile.
7. When the profile name is announced, press select
8. Connect your Icon to your PC.
9. Your PC will detect new hardware. It will guide you through the new
hardware wizzard, and should find the drivers that you have already
installed in step 1.
10. Open control pannel. A new network connection called "local area
connection n" where n is a number should now show up in the list of network
connections.
11. Now you need to select both the USB network connection, and the
connection which you want the Icon to be able to use. This can be done by
arrowing to the Icon's network connection, holding down control, arrowing to
the connection which you want the Icon to be able to use, pressing space,
and then releasing control.
12. Open the context menu by pressing shift-f10, and choose bridge
connections. Creating the bridge can take a few seconds.
13. In thirty seconds to a minute, your Icon should have obtained an IP
address and be connected to the network via your PC's USB connection. There
is currently no notification when this has happened, so you must
periodically check the status of the network profile in the network manager.
It will say connected and provide you with the Icon's IP address when the
Icon is connected to the network.

Once you have setup the network bridge, you need not set it up again.
Simply connect your Icon to your PC, open the network manager and press
select on the USB profile to connect it.

Thanks for all your great feedback. Keep it coming!

Best Regards,

Marc
