Minutes, June 28, 2013 Meeting

Attendees

Intel Michael Mirmak*

Mentor Graphics Arpad Muranyi*

Micron Technology Randy Wolff*

Signal Integrity Software Walter Katz*

Teraspeed Consulting Group Bob Ross*

The team reviewed the major items omitted from the draft 0 IBIS 6.0 document
now posted. Changes noted by attendees for the next draft include:

1) Add BIRD152 back (Arpad Muranyi).

2) Need reordering of redriver section, with jitter and noise as separate
section similar to 10B (Bob Ross).

3) Some minor corrections to text for Use_Init_Output description are
needed (capitalization in "Output" needs fixing). Some minor disagreement was
noted on 5.0 vs. 5.1 flows.

4) For Ambrish Varma's concern on "value", Arpad Muranyi noted that the
user doesn't have control, but the model maker does. The new text should read,
"The model maker may provide any value without any..."

5) The proper usage throughout the document should be "a .ibs", "a .ebd"
file, etc. References to "IBIS file" and "IBIS specification" should be
removed. Usage of "pkg" should be checked.

6) On page 6, the version 6.0 update is incorrect (Arpad Muranyi). Delete
the 5.1 format reference, add a complete BIRD list and note the added sections
in the new document.

7) On hierarchy, create a "super section" on Buffer Modeling and renumber
the sections as 6.1, 6.2, 6.3 (6.3 becomes AMI Modeling Keywords); Section 3A
should be 3.1

8) Add an Algorithmic Modeling super section. Repeaters stays as its own
section.

9) Split up reserved parameter tables, but still have a unified list at
very end, as reference (parameters should be in alphabetical order).

10) Check on rules regarding Repeater_type for Repeater pin keyword rule in
AMI file

Any renumbering should be undertaken later in specification development, to
prevent losing synchronization on changes.

A meeting schedule alternating with IBIS Interconnect is acceptable, as the
IBIS 6.0 standard is top priority. Future meetings will take place in the
Wednesday timeslot.
