to be honest if you need to share stuff a lot I'd go for dropbox, its 10 bucks a month 120 bucks a year but you get 1tb more than enough for use.
And to be honest if I ever did get a site having a cheap cloud to put it on and maybe a free domain like a dot tk one would actually suit me for personal use rather than spending cash on well a previder.

Generally it is a direct link if you can copy the link, paste it in your
browser, and have the file immediately start downloading when you press
enter, without seeing a web page come up telling you your download will
start soon or to click another link to start it.
The public dropbox folder does solve this, I haven't had experience with
other file sharing services, maybe GoogleDrive solves it too.
Does anyone else know if other file sharing services have direct
download links?

Damn.
I'm not sure what the difference is ... is the public folder required for that?

Sorry, just saw this.
Your link is not a direct download link, so it won't work in the
download list.

Ian, can you please add this to the ingame download list?

Hello players,
Here is version 1.3 of my War for Earth map pack.
Still no new maps, but here are the highlights of this release:
Added the ability to counter-attack.
Started implementing better descriptions for the aliens.
Implemented insufficient points messages for the ammo points.
Slightly modified the sounds for Confusion and Psychic Blast.
Added a take sound for swords and daggers.
Fixed a key conflict between Barrier and Psychic Blast. Barrier's key is
now
r.

Not much, but better than nothing.
