Joey, From what I've read, a 486 can give you 10Mbit performance and Pentiums and above can give 100Mbit throughput. I have a Pent 75 that I use for my Cable firewall and have not seen any bandwidth degradation (almost 2 Mbit) , but I can't speak to latency (for gaming) but I've heard there is no problem. I don't think you'll have any trouble with adding this machine as a gateway on a DSL line. Carl On Monday 14 May 2001 15:26, you wrote: > question. I have an 80mhz puter with redhat 5.0.
