Most folks couldn't possibly drive to a Walmart that participated in the 'experiment'. Only some 600 stores, of the 10,000+ Wallmart stores. even participated. The fever ran high, for folks who wanted a GNU/Linux machine, with the G OS (Google enhanced Linux ) system. The four machines stocked in those few stores were often sold out in the first day they were on the shelf, and people were forced to wait a week and have to fight to get a machine! Like selling something that you hardly ever stock, and then only in four items maximum is some kind of great idea thought up by the idiots of Microsoft! The 'experiment' was a success, actually. The entire stocked 2400 systems were sold in retail stores each week, and thousands more went out from the website, each week, else why continued? Walmart is smart enough to know a good-selling product! --- Jim Worrest <jworrest@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > You won't be able to drive over to your local > Walmart to pick up > Linux machine. > > > <http://wakeupwalmart.com/news/article.html?article=1423> > > ---- > Husker Linux Users Group mailing list > To unsubscribe, send a message to > huskerlug-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > with a subject of UNSUBSCRIBE > > > ____________________________________________________________________________________ You rock.
