From my understanding, and this is not Gentoo 2004.1, you need to install the 32bit stuff. I didn't know about the chroot, I was under the impression that you needed some tools you can emerge: http://packages.gentoo.org/search/?sstring=32bit. Hmm... The Operon I had to play with got sent back to the manufacturer to get put into a new case so I can't test any of this out... I wish I could. Have you tried running Java on that box yet? Blackdown has a port for x86_64 on their website, I'd be curious to know how it performs. I know C screams, so Java should at least speak loudly.... -Cesar Delgado --------------------------------------------- Research Computing Facility @ UNL http://rcf.unl.edu cdelgad2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, beettlle@xxxxxxxxxxx > -----Original Message----- > From: huskerlug-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:huskerlug- > bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of jwessels@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Tuesday, March 02, 2004 1:52 AM > To: huskerlug@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [huskerlug] 64 bit adventure - part 2 > > Ok, I'm back to Gentoo and trying to find a workaround for the Samba 3.0 > in > 64bitness lockup problem.
