On some of the cables they insert a plug in one of pins that can be pulled out if you are lucky. Or you could break off the corresponding pin on the Compaq site. The pin in question is just an extra ground pin or not connected at all. I may have a cable with full 40 pin connectors you can have; if I can find it!
