Milk for Thought is excited to announce our 6-week cross country road trip:

 

Latch On America

Taking Action to Empower Breastfeeding Moms


There has never been more momentum in the breastfeeding community than right
now! >From The Surgeon General's Call to Action to the First Lady's Let's
Move Campaign to a passionate advocacy and support network to multiple
political and celebrity endorsements, breastfeeding has been making news! To
celebrate this progress, Milk for Thought is hitting the road (in a giant
pink bus) to showcase what Americans are doing across the country to support
and empower breastfeeding moms.

 

During the trip, we will be traveling with a 3-person film crew to capture
personal stories, the contagious excitement of the breastfeeding community
and promote the 20 key actions of the Surgeon General's Call to Action to
Support Breastfeeding.

 

*       Breastfeeding Community: We will stop in 20 different cities and
towns for fun-filled days that bring together members of the local support
community to connect with pregnant women and breastfeeding moms. These
events will make local residents aware of all the support and resources
available in their very own city or town! Throughout these days we will also
conduct interviews to learn about the local breastfeeding culture. By the
end of the trip, we will be able to compare the acceptance of public
breastfeeding, the standard of breastfeeding care in hospitals, and how
workplace practices differ from city to city.

 

*       Promote SGCTA Actions: During the road trip, we will personalize
each of the 20 actions by compiling videos highlighting stories of
breastfeeding moms and organizations that are taking action. These videos
will generate significant awareness for The Surgeon General's Call to Action
while promoting specific ways that Americans can take action in their own
city or town. We will highlight many great organizations that are making
real progress while offering them a platform to share their insight so that
others can implement similar strategies across the country.

 

In less than a week, our Web site has received 2,700 visits and over 750
people have already told us to come to their town! We haven't even started
marketing yet! So, we couldn't be more excited about the potential for this
trip.

 

Excited yet? You want us to come to your city or town, right? Well, we will
be setting our itinerary on July 1 based on which cities and towns have
shown the most interest in us coming. You can bring the big pink bus to your
city town by reaching out to your members and having them RSVP on our site:

We will be hosting two webinars this Thursday, June 9 (at 2:00 p.m. ET and
8:00 p.m. ET) to provide more details about Milk for Thought, the Latch On
