Through the weekend there will be a wingwalker act practicing periodically each day over the runway at ELM closest to the mall. If you have to make a landing in a glider at ELM from now until the end of the weekend and you have no radio, your best bet is to put it down on the paved surfaces on the west end of the airport. Stay west of the intersection of the two runways if possible. Grass areas are also available but look for obstacles. Our auxilary field is also available and may be easiest of all. Afternoon Sean and Steve - Please pass on to the Hill that tomorrow,
Friday, Saturday and Sunday (5/3,4,5,6)  an airshow act, a wing walker,
will be practicing her act, three or four times each day.  Each practice
lasts 12-15 minutes.   A waiver has been issued to permit her Steerman to
perform acrobatic maneuvers within a defined area. That area starts at the approach end of runway 28, is 500 feet wide and extends 3,000 feet down the runway, just short of runway 6/24. The ceiling of the waiver/acrobatic box 
is 2,500 MSL.  The size and location of the box does not affect your
operation but could be a problem if any of your gliders cannot make it back 
to the hill and needed to use the airport.   A glider off the hill
attempting to land on runway 5/23 could be in conflict with the wing walker 
during a practice run if they make left traffic for runway 23 and possibly
if they make a straight in for runway 6.

If there is a problem and a glider or towplane had to use the airport for
the next 4 days please let them know of the possible conflict.  We have a
lot of grass areas here that could be used that would keep them well away
of that area above runway 10/28 that the wing walker practice will be
using.
