Hello All,
It’s that time of the year and the plan is to get the ships through the buff,
wax, and annual inspection processes over the next 6-7 weeks. We will
naturally adjust plans as the weather may demand, so here’s how we are planning
to pull this off.
1. It’s important, critical, that those willing to help let me know they are
planning to show up for the event. The usual pattern is to see 12 people show
up for the first ship and then we struggle to find the required people for the
ships later in the year. Please do not show up without letting me know you are
coming.
2. Please respond to let me know the dates you are available, and I will honor
those requests and ask others to move their availability to make sure we have
the required staffing for each effort.
3. The tentative dates for the 21’a (all Saturdays) are: Jan 14th, Jan 21st,
Feb 4th, Feb 11th. The Duo will be scheduled at a later date.
4. We need 8 people to volunteer for each event.
5. It normally takes no more than 4 hours for each event, and we have reduced
that time when we cut down on the chit chat.
Members of all experience levels are invited to volunteer. The newer members
will learn something about the care and maintenance of a glass ship, and the
more experienced members will be tutors helping others build their skills.
Please get back to me and let me know which weekends you are willing to show
up, we’ll start at 10 a.m. each day with about half the crew showing up at 9:30
a.m. to move ships. If possible we’ll position ships several days in advance,
I’ll coordinate this.
Please get back to me and let me know which weekends you are willing to help,
we’ll need some members to work on more than Saturday. You will learn
something about the aircraft we fly as well as get to meet members you haven’t
had a chance to meet or talk to.
Please respond to this message, we need your help.
Thanks
Ed
