Went out to chase a few beacons, because hot, humid weather can often mean
tropo or E-skip, and I was not disappointed. Took a while to pull in more
than a couple, but persistence paid off. Between 0142Z and 0210Z, I had:
K5AB - Goldthwaite, TX - reliably fair to good
W0KIZ - Denver, CO - variable, sometimes weak, sometimes fair to good
K5XD - Emery, TX - weak, brief fade-up and then gone again
WB5DXZ - Oklahoma City, OK - fair, faded up and then away again
WD5GLO - Minco, OK - fair, brief fade-up
KD5CKP - Olive Branch, MS - fair, brief fade-up
K5TLL - Hattiesburg, MS - surprisingly weak, brief fade-up
KG5BZI - Denton, TX - weak to fair on brief fade-ups - new for me!
Pretty sure I've seen KG5BZI's op around the list before; are you open to
the old-fashioned paper QSL thing? If so, I'll gladly drop a card in the
mail as my half of the exchange.
